Last Friday was the last day of school for the boys for a period. It's called "Track Out" here in North Carolina, where the kids on their track (#2) get three weeks off before "tracking back in" in mid-September.
The boys are immersed in Fall Baseball (all three), with Max also playing basketball on Saturday mornings, Charlie starting up soccer season, and Will will soon be playing flag football on Friday nights.
While Shelly wonders whether all these sports are worth it, I keep reminding her that it will keep the boys off the streets.
We are planning a secret trip ... only Shelly and I know ... somewhere in the United States, but not to Alaska or Hawaii ... and somewhere where the boys have never been (knocking out California, Florida, New York, and DC as possible destinations). We will pack their bags and head to the airport. Since we live in the South, we have to fly through Atlanta to get to where we are going. (The joke down here is ... "When you die ... whether you go to Heaven or to Hell ... you have to go through Atlanta first"). And, as fate would have it, not even the 2nd flight would give the answer to where we are going, as we have to eventually get on a third flight. Should be fun (after all the flights). More details to come, but not till after the adventure :)
